How To Make Advanced Settings

TerraMaster’s Operating System (TOS) was specially developed for TNAS. If you need to use advanced settings (e.g., to create users, manage permissions, manage storage space, monitor system resources, or install applications), please log in to TOS. It is worth noting that only users with administrator privileges can use TOS’s advanced settings.

Log in to TOS Locally Using TNAS PC

  1. Run TNAS PC and search for TNAS devices.

  2. From the search list, select the TNAS device you intend to use to log in. Click “Login”.

  3. In the TOS login menu, enter your username and password and click “Login”.

Log in to TOS Using TNAS IP address

You can log in to TOS by entering the TNAS IP address in your web browser’s address bar (e.g., 192.168.0.18). Your TNAS IP address can be obtained through TNAS PC.

Notes

  • This applies to both Windows OS PCs and Mac OS PCs.
  • If your computer is not on the same network segment as your TNAS device, then TNAS PC will not be able to locate it.
  • When the TNAS network configuration changes or TOS is upgraded, your TNAS IP address will change. Therefore, please use TNAS PC to query the new IP address.
  • Make Advanced Settings Remotely Using Your Computer

If you need to use a computer to access your TNAS and make advanced settings remotely over the Internet, then log in to TOS remotely. For more information about how to log in remotely, please refer to the Remote Access section of the TOS Help file.

Make Advanced Settings Using Your Mobile Device

You can use your mobile device to log in to TOS locally or to remotely to make advanced settings for your TNAS device. If you need to log in to TOS through a mobile device, your TNAS must support the “Mobile Administrator” function. Currently, only certain models support the “Mobile Administrator” function. Therefore, please check the product specifications of your TNAS device through the official website.

If you need to log in to TOS using the “Mobile Administrator” function, please install the TNAS mobile application on your iOS or Android mobile device. Make sure you have administrator privileges when you log in to TNAS mobile. Otherwise, you will not be able to use this feature.
