Why do I encounter problems such as formatting issues/lost data/hard drive not recognised, when hard drives previously used on other arrays are installed on the model D5-300?

Where hard drives may have been used for other devices, residual RAID information on them may cause a variety of problems to occur. In such case, the following countermeasures may help resolve these issues.

a. After inserting all required hard drives into your device, delete all array related data using the RAID Manager before trying to create new RAIDs.

b. If this fails to work, place any hard drives used in other arrays in their previous devices and delete any array-related data. Then repeat step a.
